Complete your registration amidst the soothing tunes of live instrumental music, savoring your welcome drink in anticipation of the journey ahead. At 0830 hrs, the train sets course for Jaipur, promising an unforgettable adventure.
Indulge in a leisurely lunch on-board, followed by a tour brief where you’ll meet your facilitators, ready to guide you through this exciting voyage.
At approximately 1500 hrs, disembark to explore the fascinating City Palace galleries, including the Textile Museum, Arms Museum, and Arts Museum. Marvel at the famous Sterling Silver Vessels, showcased in the Guinness Book of World Records, crafted from 14,000 silver coins without any joint. These vessels, once used by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II, hold a captivating history, notably carried the water of the Ganges during his journey to England in 1901 for King Edward VII’s coronation.

Once the private hunting grounds of Maharajas, this sanctuary became a National Park in 1973, renowned for its open sightings of various wildlife species including tigers, leopards, and more. Experience the thrill of an early morning game drive, bracing yourself for the bumpy and dusty ride while relishing the chance to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
Return to the train and enjoy a hearty breakfast as we journey towards the legendary deserted Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. Admire the ever-changing landscapes while savoring a delicious lunch onboard.

As the dawn breaks, we arrive in Agra, the jewel of India, where the timeless wonder of the Taj Mahal awaits. This architectural masterpiece, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was commissioned by Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his beloved queen Mumtaz. Crafted entirely from white marble, it stands as a testament to love and artistry, with its intricate inlay work and marble screens crafted by over 20,000 skilled craftsmen.
After an early morning disembarkation, we make our way to the Taj Mahal, basking in its serene beauty and awe-inspiring grandeur. Witnessing this unparalleled marvel at sunrise is a moment etched in time.

(Thursday) Orcha and Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh
At the break of dawn, we disembark at Orchha Railway Station, greeted by the charm of the quaint village known for its rustic lifestyle. Orchha Fort, a majestic structure built by the Bundela rulers in the 1500s, overlooks the serene Betwa river. A short Tuk Tuk ride takes us through the hinterlands, offering a glimpse into the simplicity of village life. Returning to the train, we indulge in a delightful breakfast.
As the train meanders through picturesque landscapes, we enjoy a leisurely lunch on-board en route to Khajuraho, famed for its breathtaking architecture and exquisite sculptures. Constructed between 950 and 1050 AD, the temples of Khajuraho are unparalleled examples of Indo-Aryan architecture, adorned with highly sensual engravings portraying human emotions and relationships.
Upon arrival, we embark on a mesmerizing tour of the magnificent temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The western group boasts splendid examples of Chandela art, notably the Kandariya Mahadev Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
As evening descends, optional activities await our indulgence – from the vibrant Dances of India show at Kandariya Shilpgram to serene spa facilities at a nearby hotel, or the enchanting Sound and Light Show at the temple complex. (Friday) Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
Today as you enjoy breakfast on-board, your journey continues through rich agricultural fields, arriving into the holy city of Varanasi.
One of the oldest living cities in the world, Varanasi (also known as Kashi or Banaras) has a spiritual legacy of over 3000 years. A place of pilgrimage, this holy city is set on the banks of the sacred river Ganges. Varanasi epitomizes the chaos and colour of India. Lively bazaars, exquisite and bright silks, festivals, temples, mosques and palaces – all can be found here.
Following disembarkation, proceed for lunch at Hotel Taj Ganges. After lunch, visit the ancient ruins of Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon expounding the principles of Buddhism. Proceed for a boat cruise on the Ganges, en-route visit a Silk Weaving Centre, where you may even shop for some world famous Banarasi silk saris and brocades.
Enjoy a scenic cruise on the river Ganges and witness a magical evening aarti at the ghats of the holy Ganges.
Return to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express. Dinner will be served on-board. Maharajas’ Express leaves for Delhi.
